ESSER (Elementary and Secondary Schools Emergency Relief) Funds

The Knoch School District was awarded $1,955,857 under the ARP ESSER Fund on April 5, 2022.  The funding is intended to address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on underserved students.  This funding is designed to help schools invest in mitigation strategies consistent with the CDC to the greatest extent practicable; address the many impacts of COVID-19 on students, including interrupted instruction; implement strategies to meet students' social, emotional, mental health, and academic needs; offer crucial summer, afterschool, and other extended learning and enrichment programs; support early childhood education; invest in staff capacity.
 
ARP ESSER funding may be utilized for allowable costs dating back to March 13, 2020, through September 30, 2024.  The ARP ESSER grant required at least 20% of the grant to be spent on learning loss mitigation.

In addition, Knoch School District was awarded $152,013 under the ARP ESSER 7% Set Aside Fund on March 8, 2022.  This funding may be utilized for allowable costs dating back to March 13, 2020, through September 30, 2024.
 
The required allocation of these funds is as follows:
 
5% - Learning Loss Set Aside $108,581 - to be used to address the social, emotional, and mental health needs of students, provide professional development and technical training to educators to address social, emotional, and mental health needs of students, and address reading remediation and improvement for students
 
1% - After-School Set Aside $21,716 - for evidence-based comprehensive afterschool programs.
 
1% - Summer School Set Aside $21,716 - for evidence-based summer enrichment programs.
